Default Bose system w/ add'l sub/amp....questions...

I am in the process of ordering my new A4 and am having the Bose/noBose debate. I will be planning on upgrading the system with a new amp/sub but would prefer not to swap out speakers and take apart the doors. Therefore, the Bose would initally seem the way to go. If I add a sub/amp to the Bose system will the add'l power (after unhooking stock sub) improve sound to the remaining speakers. Can they handle it? I would prefer to not have two amps, but don't want to rewire the whole system. If I go noBose I will replace all speakers, add sub and an amp. I don't let other people mess with my car and will do all work myself. If I swap out the door speakers, are there any that will fit without custom adapters? Any input is greatly appreciated ;] .

Default Keep in mind that Bose uses an unusual resistance rating in its speakers - hard to go aftermarket(m)

with the amp and keep the factory Bose speakers. Some here who've done it may have more information though.

You could add a sub to the system without changing the sub and speakers though...

If you're not looking to rewire though, the Bose is a bit easier, since the speakers all run off the trunk amp (and are therefore wired back to it), as opposed to the non-Bose system, where the front speakers run off the head unit's internal amp, and are wired there.

adaptors are needed for the doors. Just get Bose and add an amp and sub, mine sounds great..

Default Im going...(more)

No bose. I went to a sterio shop (www.mobilefantasy.com) and the guy said the Bose is really hard to work with. Im still debating my finally equipment. But I herd the standard system and it soundede pretty good, so I think for now maybe a new head unit and a sub.

Default Dealer did not recommend aftermarket......

When I ordered my car, I asked the dealer about adding an aftermarket Bose system. He stated that if you were going to do it eventually, you may as well do it now and have it done at the factory. The thought of rewiring and pulling off door panels- what a mess!!
