Bought 02 1.8T - Dealer changed O2 sensor - check engine light is back
I have always had Audi's in the family, but this is my first one. The car is a 1.8T A4 quattro with ~45K. I believe it is pretty much bone stock.
It had the C/E light at the dealer so I asked to check it. The said it was an O2 sensor so they changed it for me.
After a half day of normal driving I have a C/E light again and I am unsure what to look for.
Thanks in advance, I promise I will get better at this.

Same thing happened to me and it was both of my cats
btw, the cats are covered under federal 80k emissions warranty.
I heard that sometimes when a car is driven with a bad Coil Pack as is common on these cars the unused gas from the non-functional cylinder can screw up your o2 sensor and your cats.
You should vagcom the code or bring it back to the stealer
Then again i'm a n00b too

Wow.. I feel like such a newb...
I have been working on making cars go fast for years but I know nothing about my own (new to me) car).
The dealer is not a Audi dealer so i will run it by the local dealership for this VAG test.
And I completely forgot about the emissions warranty so I will play that up and see what it can get me.
Does Audi link their service records between dealers so i might be able to get a history on the car?
Thanks again,
-Anthony

Raw fuel can damage a cat. Felines too. If you had a bad coil pack...
the unburned fuel can cause heat deactivation in the cat and eventually it can melt down. Which would require you to replace the cat. Unlike cat poisoning (for example with leaded fuel) which can usually be reversed by running the engine hard for an extended amount of time.
