2nd on the parking brake thing... mine started doing that last winter. froze on me this morning too

based on last digits of VIN:

8E0-945-515 for B4 A4 with VIN up to ...8E2202378
3B0-945-511 for B6 A4 with VIN ...8E2202379 and higher

It did. I got a new brake light switch from local VW dealer.

I have 2006 A4 Avant 2.0. I am having exactly the same problem as others in this thread have experienced. I had it first time last winter and this winter 2 nights in a row and the battery was dead. Has anyone found out the way out?
