Brake Switch A4 B6 clean to avoid ABS and traction control light on dash

I'm not opposed to opening up a switch or relay to clean the contacts, have done so many time, but new switches are cheap enough- $11.50 for a Facet brand at autohausaz.com. I replaced mine some months ago, which completely cleared my ABS/EPC lights from coming on. The Facet switch came with installation instructions including easy to understand illustrations.
Regarding the ABS wheel sensor, if that has been replaced but the circuit is still dead, then pry out the rubber plug in the rear of the wheel well, to inspect those connector contacts at the plug and receptacle.

Thanks for the replies. I will try to trace the wire up through to the bay in the engine. I think all of the wheel sensors connect near the top middle of the firewall, correct? And I would be looking for a frayed or otherwise bad wire? I changed out the sensor, the connector behind plug in the wheel well looked fine.
