The mod consists of front and rear Zimmerman Sport xdrilled rotors, Hawk HPS pads, Motul RBF 600 fluid.
The work was completed by Bob Hindson Racing, reputable shop located in Kansas City. The work done was excellent, on schedule and I was handed the car with rotors and pads that were ready for use, after beding in. Also received excellent advice along the way. Great shop.
Here are the first impressions. Wow! What a difference over stock brakes. Initially as I pulled out of their driway, the pedal had the same feel as with stock fluid, but after the first meaningfull application it was clear that is much firmer than before. Initial bite with Hawk HPS pads was just about like stock, however after raising their temp just a little they bite so much harder than stock. So far they are completely quiet. Drive home was a pleasure. It stops so much better, the pedal is very firm, pads are quiet. Keep in mind that the process of braking this set up in is not over. It will be a little bit before is complete and I will revisit the subject again, with an update on dusting and noise. I just washed the car so I could track the dust development.
I was advised by the the tech that it would be prudent to bleed the clutch as these two systems use the same fluid where RBF 600 does not play well with others. That is what I had them do as well as I was switching from Pentosynth to Motul. Mike Kim from purems confirmed the same. Just some food for thought for those thinking about switching to Motul RBF 600.
I measured the how much pad left in front and rear on my stock, front were 12mm, rear 7mm and that is after 30k. I will be selling my oem rotors and pads as they are in great condition. A lot of use left on front ones at least. Rear pads are at the limit if I am correct.
