Default Brakes squealing ?

my brakes have just recently been squealing (might be the wrong term) but they're making an annoying noise as i come to a stop...

my car has 45,000 miles on it, why has this just started happening, and the weird thing is that it doesn't always happen

Default is there a lot of brake dust? or did it just rain recently? sometimes those can cause noises...

when damp or recently wet, they may squeal at times or if there is collection of brake dust, that'll do it too.

when were your brakes last replaced? try hosing down the brakes and see if that makes a difference.

Default Pretty common to squeal if your pads are like 30% or less

My dealer had a look at mine and told me this is due to uneven pad wear. He says it happens alot and can be fixed at my cost by removing the pads and grinding them down a bit to take out the uneven parts. Not worth it imho. Time to upgrade my pads I guess!

He also said for me to do five or six really hard stops from like maybe 40+ and sometimes that will help.

Default I've found if there's a ton of brake dust, hose down the brakes and clean 'em, it gets rid of

the noise

Default The dealer tried using brake cleaners to clean it up but that won't do anything

Try it anyways though..you never know. Mine came back the same day after the dealer looked at it. Unfortunately, the warranty won't replace the pads until it is gone, 5% or less I think.
