2. Thier machining process is so precise that a break-in is not required. Or it could be a combination of the two reasons.

All Audis are run for 45 minutes at the factory, then the oil is changed afterwards. I suspect BMW and Porsche go through a similar process. The difference being whether they choose to refill them with synthetic or dino.
I think at one point Audi was using synthetic for break-in but has since switched back to dino (Something about seating the rings better with dino).
Either way, this process does not complete the break-in of the engine and you should follow normal break-in procedures.
