Went to Whistler today and there were a few Audis on the road so I thought I'd play around a bit on the freshly paved sections that have just been completed.
I was playing with an A6 and tried to pass him doing about 80mph when I felt a shudder both time I hit the throttle and thought I blew a coilpack.
But there were no blinking lights, no CELs, nothing. Car still drove fine.
So I try it again on an uphill section. I try to scream by and the car shudders again around 8-mph so I back off again.
On the third attempt it was a long sweeping climb and I just eased into the throttle and was able to bring the speed up to about 120mph without any problem, but when I punched the throttle I can feel the tires slip and then grab.
Too much torque and tires can't grip well enough.
I'm running the Pirelli Snowsport 210 that came with the car when I bought it. So is there such a thing as a high performance snow tire that would grip better?? Or is that an oxymoron?

That said, these Wintersports still grip better than my General Exclaim UHPs in the wet =P
