Bubbles on my dipstick?

Bubbles on my dipstick?
(No, not an STD!) I noticed some bubbles in the oil on my dipstick while I was getting gas. It's not frothy, just a few bubbles, but I've never noticed this before. Is this normal? It is about time for an oil change (8000 miles on M1 0w40, but easy, NOT stop-and-go driving).

For an acurate reading, you need to wait until the car is cooled down, classic gas station scam.
When you engine is hot, the oil is all over the place. You have to wait until the engine is cool and all the oil drips down into the reservoir.
They used to do this to people at gas stations. "Excuse me sir, your oil seems to be low, would you like me to fill it up?" Then you end up having too much oil in there.
