I was thinking of upgrading my oem brake system but i dont want to blow a lot on a bbk cause i am only needing the upgrade for performance street driving.
1. ecs oem front bbk + ss lines and stock 1.8T caliper: 12.3" One Piece Slotted/Drilled & Cadmium Plated rotor, OEM 3.0L Carrier& Mintex Red Box pads
2. complete oem b6 s4 front brakes
3. or can i do the ecs oem bbk upgrade as listed above in 1. and also add on b5 s4 calipers (kinda heavy)
im basically looking for something to improve braking and also fill up my new wheels and add some looks.
any input is apprecaited, thanks guys<ul><li><a href="http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/pagebuild_v2.cgi/?html=learnmore.html&productID=1412">ecs oem brake upgrade</a></li></ul>

used B5 S4 calipers $150
Zimmerman slotted S4 rotors $190
Hawk HPS front pads $120
Stoptech SS front lines $46
ATE Typ 200 fluid $10
Total = $516.00
I think the 3.0 carrier upgrade is too expensive for what you get in braking improvement. The S4 calipers are not that heavy, however the larger disks are. You can go to the ECS two-piece rotor to reduce weight, but then you are talking another $400.
Here's a set currently for sale on e-Bay (no personal interest in this sale btw, I just happened to see them):<ul><li><a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=792522625 3&category=33564&sspagename=WDVW#ebayphoto hosting">s4 calipers</a></li></ul>

You can find plently of cheap S4 calipers on this site:
www.car-part.com
Also...places like BAP might have new (remanufactured) ones for a decent price.

im going to talk to him tomorrow, what would u like to know about the brakes?
i think he was planning to order the ECS tuning S4 replica rotors which are better and lighter than the original than the s4 rotors...
if i were you, i think i would pick up his calipers and order those ... if he is willing to part with just his calipers of course.
anyways, lemme know what you wanna know exactly and i'l ask him tomorrow
