Build Date Accuracy

I ordered a 2003 A4 3.0 6spd w/Sport Package in August and the dealer said that the build date would be the second week in September, with delivery coming in November. I called to check up on it because I hadn't heard anything in about since the first week in September and the dealer said that the computer wasn't showing it built yet. He mentioned that sometimes they don't update the computer info regularly and it may come in when they clear the records for the month. Does this sound plausible or is it possible that my car is 3 weeks behind on it's build date?
Were your build dates accurate?

I ordered my 3.0 6 speed in early August too. Was told that the build date would be week 37 (second week of September) with a delivery date of 9/26 or 9/27 to the dealer. The car was built, the dealer even printed out the confirmation of the actual build date (9/12/02) and the space it was sitting in on the boat. 9/28 I went in to pick it up and was told that it was held up in customs and that it would be here on 10/3. They gave me an A6 as a loaner for a few days. Dealer confirmed that the car is still coming in.
I would double-check w/your dealer. My dealer (HBL of Tysons) had up to the minute status on my car.
Good luck

Nope, dealer called me today, car is still at the port. Apparently, there was a big gash in my front bumper and they had to order a new bumper from Germany. It's supposed to come next week. I don't mind, I'm still driving the A6 loaner car.
