Default Re: Where you located? This guy is selling a nicely modded 1.8t...

I live in Battle Creek, Michigan. I really want the Ultra Sport, regardless of the motor. To mod after purchase would be tough, because Of the Wife factor. So I would prefer faster at time of purchase. I appreciate all the responses, I don't mind any drama, I was hoping for arguments and negatives for both motors.

Default No I ment there was some drama with the guys last attempt to sell the car...

I don't know what that was all about. But he's somewhere in NY. Don't know how far that is from you. But he's already got a K04 turbo in it, Bilstein coilovers, BBS wheels, Sportec body kit, it's loaded. No much to do to it after purchase.

But if you really don't want to mod, I'd look for a 3.0

Default From talking to Skeeball, I got the impression the problem was with the change over from Giac...

software to PES's own software. Hopefully they have it sorted out a little better now.

Default it is not because of the internals, it is because the charged air is not cooled

and 10.1:1 compression way too high for boost.

forged internals will still ping unless you drop compression the pistons.

easiest solution is to score some thicker head gaskets and drop the compression to 9.5:1 or lower.

the 3.2fsi on the other hand can handle a supercharger since fsi eliminates ping.

Default Get a manual either way

I vote for the 1.8t but I may be biased. Tons of performance options for the 1.8t, really only the PES S/C for the 3.0. Good luck!

Default Get the 3.0 USP if you can find one.....G3 kits blowing engines is misleading

I think 3.0king was going thru engines trying to crank up the power/boost. PES' kit is good for 6-8lbs of boost which should be fine for the 3.0 (no need to drop CR). Another factor to consider is that improper installation and/or current software is most likely the culprit. Either way, I've had my kit since 8/2005 and my engine hasn't blown-up despite my aggressive driving habits.
