Default Can not find the car I want. Can anyone offer me some advise?

Hi,

I am looking to buy an A4 this week. But no dealer seems to have what I want. I want a 1.8T CVT, sport, premium, xenon. The exterior color could be Dolphin Grey, Ebony or Ming Blue and interior is either Platinum or Ebony. I called six different dealerships around my house but none of them seems to have it. What should I do? Thanks.

Geoff

Looks like you're gonna have to order it from the factory

Default Call Robert Hayes or Drew Polenchar at Commonwealth in Santa Ana.

They will run a locate via the Audi computer for what you are looking for. They can see everything in the state as well as what has not yet arrived on dealer lots. They can use your exact criteria. This way you will know if the car is available at all. Be prepared to pay shipping if the car is on a far away lot and needs to be trucked ( Audi delivery charge only covers getting it to first dealer ).

These guys know cars and won't jerk your chain. They are pros in a good sense, in that they aren't into playing games. Tell them I sent you. Either they have it, can get, or will tell you that you need to order. Don't just call the sales dept in general, as you might get a clueless lot lizard.

Robert cell 1-714-608-3360
Drew cell 1-562-260-3920
Audi sales manager is Terry Zwarka
Commonwealth 1-714-565-7500

Wish I had asked you first! I went to Commonwealth in Santa Ana when I first started looking last Nov. The person I spoke to (not Robert or Drew) told me there would be NO avants until 2003 (and wouldn't I like a sedan instead?)... When I asked ".. how come so many of the new cars don't have guages" the salesman said "You don't need to know that" I left very upset and almost bought a BMW.

Then I went to Newport Audi and ordered my car from Allison. No problem (no haggling).

Default Unless you go into a dealership knowing who to talk to, it is the luck of the draw.

There are more sales losers than sales professionals.

Glad to hear that it turned out OK for you in the end.

I actually did call Commonwealth but I didn't talk to anyone named Robert or Drew. I am going to try it again tomorrow. Thanks for the input guys! I really appreciate it.

Default Yup, I had the same problem ... (more)

... and I just couldn't wait the 3 months it took to order one. I was able to find one on a lot that was very close, and I just bought it.

Given my experience, there is a good chance that you will not be able to find the exact car you want on any lot. Either bite the bullet, and order and wait - or get one that is very close. Your dealer should be able to do some searches and find a car that is VERY close to what you want.

Good luck!!!

Talk to Drew. I just bought from him and he was great. He'll help you out and won't play any sales games. Thanks for the ref April.
