I need to know the best stuff that you can buy for washing, waxing, drying and detailing. I want to get it as close as it was when I bought it. Basically, does anyone know what the dealerships use or something better? What is the best thing to dry it with? Any and all comments would be helpful.

I have to say I was fairly impressed. They sell their detailing products in kits that remove all the guess work and trying to match different products for the best results. They also send you a copy of an e-book on detailing (I think it's online too).

Several years ago I tried a product called Liquid Glass - I bought it at a local farm and fleet store because it was the most expensive that they sold so I figured it was good. That is a stupid reason for buying a product but I was not disappinted. It comes in a really dorky looking can with a picture of a red Corvette on it. They also make a pre-cleaner. It goes on with very little effort, produces a great shine and lasts a long time- at least 6 months. The more coats the better. It even makes my 14 year old Celica look good. I have been using it on my newer A4 and find that it washes up pretty well - splattered bugs wipe right off. You can probably find it on line.

I have found from experience that the best tool to dry a washed car with is a soft 100% cotton terry cloth bath towel. I cut them in to two or three pieces as I find this to be the best size to handle without letting it drop onto the ground where it might pick up dirt and scratch the car. It usually takes two pieces for me to do a quick pass over my car starting from the windows and working down to the top of the hood and truck and finally fenders (mine is a convertible so I don't have to dry the top). I then go back with a dry towel to finish up and get any spots missed the first time.

Nick and his wife heather run a top quality shop, he has good products, fair prices and cheap shipping. He also was an Audi owner and knows the audi's inside and out. give him a call and ask some questions.

http://www.detailersparadise.com/_system/_advancedstore/qryDefault.asp</a
