Car cover question

Car cover question
I did a search but couldn't find any relative posts except don't put a dirty cover on car or clean cover on a dirty car b/c it will scratch. I live in NY and I do not have use of the garage spot and in an effort to keep know off my car I was thinking of putting car cover on every night starting in mid-november so if it snows I can leave the cover in the garage and then my car would be snow free. I am worried that this may scratch the finish or do damage to the cars exterior in someway. I was wondering has anyone used a car cover for this purpose or do they know anything about what might happen if I use the car cover in this fashion. Thanks.

Re: Car cover question
I have not had dealings with snow (I live in So Cal, but I have had the cover freeze due to low temps). The only problem that I can see is that the cover may freeze and possibly adhere to you car in some spots. Also, a wet, frozen cover is not a fun thing to take off a car (especially in the early AM) and then you need to spread it out in the garage to dry out prior to putting it back on.
