the dealer won't necessarily be the shop that does the painting. To my knowledge, neither Audi dealer in Houston has their own body shop. The finished product, therefore, will only be as good as the shop they send it to. It might pay to ask your dealer who they use, then make an on-sight visit. Shops whose owner/managers wear white lab coats, speak with a German accent, and have floors clean enough to eat off of are always good bets IMO.

Painting the hood will work fine, your car is new and still has depth to the paint, matching the colour is no problem. The real challenge is an old car when the newly painted panel is deeper than the rest. Again, it's no problem for you because if the hood is deeper than the body, it will pass, even looks better like my 5 year old Avant did after hood paint.

..."her" parking space. She waited, then walked over and did a 360 key job, just downwind of the security camera. She was arrested, fined, spent a few nights in jail (apparently this wasn't her first key job), and got pickup-the-freeway-trash probation. Just one of the more evil people I've ever known. Oh, lost her job, too.
Sometimes there's justice.

My cost was about $1300, but the place I went to is not cheap, and are very reputable.
But I had the hood and roof done, if it was just the hood, probably a lot cheaper. They would probably just take the hood off, and prep and paint off of the car. Much less work involved doing that, no taping off the car, etc..
Can't help you out in price thougk, but my guess is around $500

xtal blue. was keyed (actually double keyed) on four body panels on one side of car. repair totaled $1300, with $500 deductible. the balance is a casualty loss on your income taxes, btw. the body shop and my insurance co had identical procedures, altho they used different labor rates. now repaired, looks fine. but it takes a very good shop to match the color correctly!
