also. where would i source something like this?
I found the bulbs on e-bay. But i am assuming i need new ballasts as my OEM can't drive the 55w bulbs, so will the 85122cm phillips ballast & bulb kit from HID concepts work?

no issues with fittment. BTW, HID Concepts is where I got my 85122CM burners, I like the higher output and the color temp is really white, no yellow at all.

is 3100 lumen. So it looks like i would actually be loosing lumen which is going to result in less light on the road.
thus i was originally trying to find a 55w unit w/ ballasts and bulbs to get some extra lumen.
Am i mis-understanding something?

that doesn't fit like the OEM parts, The higher color temp at 5000K, is very effective. The tolerances in the lumens specs is something to keep in mind. The loss of a nominal 100 lumens, is within the tolerance variation typically between lamps, and isn't a noticeable amount especially with the higher color temp lamps. Try it, you will like it. The lamps I have, seem a lot brighter compared to the stock 4200K lamps.
One alternative, is to try a pair of the 85122+ lamps, they have the highest lumens output available at 35 watts, but the color temp is only slightly whiter than the stock 85122 lamps.
Many sellers claim the 85122+ is 5000K, but it's not. It's actually about 4300K according to Phillips. I have run the 85122+ burners, they are really bright, but the 85122CM version seems brighter to me.
