Default Car kit install

Just got my new A4 (UK Spec 2.0 SE), and want to install a nokia car kit. I've read all the docs from this site about doing this and don't have a problem with the electrics, but I'd like to know where I find the DB25 connector to plug into. Also any tips / photos on how to remove the relevant trims would be great.

Don't think they wire us up here in the UK :-( I put in a nokia bluetooth kit, works great, no wires/holes/holder in sight, just a little button on the dash.

What do you do about stereo mute and speaker output, do you use the ones that come with the kit?
I'd like to use the stereo mute etc if I can. Also don't want to by a new car kit!

In non-bose - as mine - I used the car speakers. Radio mute runs with all systems. If BOSE you must have "squark box". All good installers can set this up, one point to consider is when they put in the mic lead get them to put it behind the airbag in the pillar. I didn't want to find out that the airbag is cut in two by the lead if triggered by a collision.

Where are you, the guy who did my install was great, very neat.

Good to know it can be done, I was looking at doing it myself.
I'm in Nottinghamshire.

Dont surpose you know how it was done for yours, i.e. directly into the radio or did they use any kind if interface?

Sound like I may have to fork out some cash for this!

Direct to radio for mute and sound, with feed from ignition. Care here, as some of the feeds keep car "live" and flat the battery! My install was about £50, guy was very carefull, spent a good few hours getting it as I wanted and pointed out things like the air bag issue. Drop me an email and i'll pass you his details - he's located in Herts so may be able to come to you or meet half way.
