Default Carbonio Installed. Pics+Impressions

Install took a bit over an hour.
Everything was fairly straight forward.

I circled the end of the intake in one of the pics below, it doesnt go that low..however, as you will see if you get one yourself, its in a good spot, where it would make sense for it to be efficient in.

after the install, did a TBA and turned the car on, at idle, there is a very small increase in noise, it would only be noticable to the owner of the car, thats how small of a difference it is.

While driving, you can hear it suck in air a LITTLE BIT, again, only the owner would notice...in fact, there are no huge gains in sound at all, however i have a feeling if someone that DIDNT have an exhaust and downpipe got this installed, the noise difference would be much greater to them. I personally could not hear much of a huge difference. There is no BOV sound like the boosted makes, no surprise there..

Throttle response is a little better, while it feels like i get into turbo range a bit faster, i dont actually feel like im going any faster than before. I certainly dont think it makes the claimed 8-10hp, to be perfectly honest, i wouldnt be TOTALLY shocked if it didnt add anything.

It looks nice under the hood, after driving hard for 20 minutes, i touched the CF box and it was warm, not hot, a 6 year old could touch it and not complain.

Overall, Im satisfied, but thats about it. Not blown away, but of course, why would i be, its just an intake that is replacing an already efficient stock design. Would i recommend it to anyone that has a chip/exhaust/downpipe/testpipe already?...yes i would. But if you dont have a chip/exhaust/downpipe/testpipe ... get those, before the intake.

No regrets here.

thats about it i guess.

Default i would choose this over boosted, simply because of design, CF, and carbonio is local to me. i have

not driven an a4 with boostedCAI, or heard it...so i cant comment on which is better in terms of performance...only which is better looking.

Default Thanks Amir. Hope mine arrives on Monday like promised...

BTW, they only claim 4 to 6 Hp gain on a stock A4. Th 8 to 10 Hp was a misprint/error. That figure is for the BMW M3.

Default Yup im aware of that, however they havent fixed it on their site, and

when i met the gentlemen, he didnt correct me when i threw the claimed 8-10hp out in our conversation.

But, it is afterall a great product, and i would get it again if i could do it all over.

We also discussed your TIP briefly too, i was telling him that that was probably going to be my next mod, and that i hope it all goes smoothly..and he said that you guys had kept in touch quite a bit, and that he doesnt forecast any issues with your TIP and the CAI.

He also mentioned APR sponsoring someone with stage 3++ that got this intake, and has some 360hp on a B6....the car is going to be on some car show on sept. 20th on speedvision.

carbonio may also be making a lip spoiler, engine cover, and CF side mirrors (advised him against the mirrors)
