Look for a Castrol distributor in your area and contact them.

Call different AZ's in your area. Some in mine had it, others didn't.

Default i fell in love with this oil, used it for the last change and now i cant find it anywhere....

after 7k it was completely blonde and not a drop low. It was much smoother on the high end than the mobil 0-40 i used for 60k. It was the factory fill and my car felt like it knew this oil and loved it.
Its perfect for the 1.8 and im bummed i cant find it anymore, i got on the bandwagon too late. It was a tease to go one round and then have to switch again.

Default just found a place online, never heard of them but they have it....

the site wont allow a direct link from the page that lists it, just put syntec in the drop down and its the first product listed.

worth a try maybe

Default Is the reason because...

the "made in the USA" one is approved for only VW 502 00 and 505 00 requirements,

while the "made in Germany" one is approved for 502 00 and 505 01 requirements?

I bought the "made in USA" version because I saw VW 502 and VW 505 written on the bottle and therefore thought I was golden. I never bothered to look at the second last 2 digits. Is that the reason?

Default OK, now I'm confusing myself more...

The Audi tech bulletin says to use 502 00 and 505 01.

While the "Made in Germany" Syntac here says it only meets 502 00, 505 00, & 503 01. Maybe it's because this is not the "Made in Germany" that everyone is talking about. This is 0W-30 Syntec and I believe Audi recommends 5W-40 Syntec.

No clue. I'm lost when it comes to oils. I just use Motul that my usual mechanic carries.

Hmmm... Now I'm tempted to try it as well.
