I don't why I've been so nervous about doing it. It was about as easy as it gets. The drain plug and filter were torqued on like hell though. Taking the filter off and whatever that box is behind it came off too. Scared the **** out of me I thought I broke something. Here are some pics.

Not sure what component this is. It's in the center and rear of the tranny. It had a couple drops of oil on it, is this bad?

Is this the rear diff? It was pretty much coated in dried up gooey oil. Normal?

then keep an eye on it to see if it's leaking at all, and how much.
As for the part that the oil filter screws onto, I didn't know that it unscrewed also. Good to know in case it happens to me some day. I think there were some hoses attached to it. Did you make sure none of them got kinked or loosened?

I just put the old seal back on the oil cooler. I'll keep an eye on it. How do you check level on rear diff? Is there a sight glass or something?

remove it and the oil level should be level with the bottom of the hole. Just be sure the car is raised up level and not just jacked up in the back. You'll need 4 jack stands/ramps to do this.
