It seems that the mechanic he took it to ran some flush in the engine and it clogged the oil pump screen and eventually broke it. He did realize that his neighbor works as a mechanic for Audi so he's getting free labor, which is nice. He said that there is a knocking noise on the top of the engine and a lot of smoke from burning oil, so they took the head off and there was oil in the cylindars and onthe turbo blades. They just had the head tested for damage and leaks and there were none. Could it be that the sludge mucked up the turbo and caused the seals to blow? I'm curious about the knocking sound. The pistons were fine, they have great compression and no scoring in the bore.

If he gets off with just a new turbo then that's good news. He was looking for an upgrade anyways.

In his 5 block drive home to his garage with low oil pressure, he broke the turbo. Apparently the seals broke and he was shooting oil into the intake/exhaust. His mechanic took the turbo apart and noticed the turbin was ground up. Or some part in the turbo, I imagine whichever gets lubricated with oil. So he's in the market for a new turbo. Anyone have any used turbo they'd sell for cheap? K03sport or k04 please.
