the only retailer for new ones is valentine1.com
so you gotta find a used one.
ebay maybe, although I don't know anyone personally taht has sold one after buying it. They're pretty solid and thus you don't see a ton of em being sold used. If you do see them, they usually are posted pretty close to new price.
that said, I haven't checked ebay for them since i got mine this summer, you might have more luck now with finding a used one.

actually, the way it works is that you can be put on a list to receive a unit
and the list was 13 people long in august. They average less than 10 returns a month. also, you only save like 30 bucks.
don't know how the holidays play into the whole scheme.
the bottom line is that it's really tough to find them under retail.
