Default Re: "Audi Program" car

Well, it doesn't make sense, an Audi being a demo or loaner on a VW lot. Think about it. Unless like someone else mentioned, it's a combo VW/Audi lot, which I always thought VAG strictly forbids in their franchises in NA. In order to separate the two brands.

The "program car" threw me too.

You'll notice I am putting this in the body of msg so as not to be harsh in a visible subject line...

But, the idea of Audi loaners on VW lots would tend to demo customers right off the VW lots and into Audi showrooms. That would be pretty absurd, don't you think?

Default me personally

yeah i can't see an audi demo car being on a vw lot period...

an audi dealer would never directly trade their own demo car to a vw dealer... and a vw dealer would never have a reason to have a demo audi...

which leads me to believe the audi dealer is also a vw dealer.... although you pointed out that is forbdden and me personally ive never actually seen a vw/audi dealer...

so its possible there is just confussion here otherwise i have no explanation

or its a lightly use jetta... that was traded into an audi dealer... but he didn't say it was a used car so thats probably not the case either

That prior post(same subject line) was not in response to anything you said, MB. Just running it by you...

Default Theoretically, if there were a pair of dealers...

...one VW and one Audi, and they were affiliated (same parent company), and the Audi dealer was having difficulty getting rid of the program car, they might send it to their VW counterpart to "upsell" (or side-sell) a VW prospect into the Audi Program Car. For someone shopping for a new Audi, selling them a Program Car would be a down-sell.

But, it happens all the time at other dealers (I know a few MBZ that were purchased that way at MBZ dealers), so I'm really grasping at straws here.

Silly question - have you tried asking? When I bought my car, my dilemma was, why were they selling it for $5-7K under KBB? I asked, and was given a very reasonable answer.

That 200hp and DGS in a lighter car would be pretty peppy. Try them both on.

You know what I think? I think the VW lot went out and bought the A4, for whatever reason, from Audi corporate. Just as Audi dealers buy corp lease returns and CPO them to sell used.

I don't think it's a common or approved of practice, but they may have wanted that Audi on their lot for some promo reason..."yes, can you see?"..."the 4 motion is the same as Quattro"...LOL.

Promo car, that's the weird part in this.
