Default Clutch feels limp, cannot shift into gear...

1.8T 2004, manual, I was coming around a corner last night, down shifted from 4th to 3rd, when i cam out of fourth i could not get it into third. The clutch seems limp. Looking for some advice before i have it towed to garage....

Default Could be hydraulic, mechanical, or both...

Whats "limp" the foot pedal?

Miles? Any mods?

The pedal, goes down weak comes back sluggish at best

Default Could be the clutch master, and or slave cylinders...

see any leaking hydraulic oil?

Default It's either the clutch hydraulics, like a siezed master/slave piston, or the clutch ..

itself, specifically the pressure plate assembly. I predict the pressure plate failed.
