Clutch job - Do I have the right parts...and do I need them ALL?
I'm buying the parts and letting the Audi dealership do the install.
Here is the list I've come up with from genuinevwparts.com but I'm not sure if I need all of these...
Release fork
Release bearing
Pressure plate
Pilot bearing
Flywheel
Clutch Disc

don't forget new hardware for the flywheel and pressure plate...
not sure about the release fork, I didn't change that when I did my clutch swap.
You could probably get the flywheel you have re-surfaced instead of buying a new one.
BTW make sure genuineaudiparts sent you the right pilot bearing, I ended up leaving the old one in because I realized 4 days before my clutch swap that they sent me the wrong one.

New hardware...like bolts or?
I don't see any hardware listed on their site.
Also, the dealership told me that since it's a dual *something* clutch, it can't be resurfaced...that isn't the case?

The hardware is one-time use only.
I looked at my old invoice and can't find the PN for the hardware, I know they were entered as a VW item on the website. Ask Craig, he'll tell you.
The stock flywheel is dual mass, I replaced mine with a South Bend light weight flywheel but I know South Bend will re-surface the stock dual mass flywheel for a new clutch installation.

I guess I just have to trust them?
They don't list part numbers on their website for the parts...just model year etc, hopefully they send the right items. I'm waiting on an email back from them to see if they have everything in stock.

Dealership is semi-correct....
Audi dual mass flywheels are often replaced, vice resurfaced, especially if they have alot of miles.
Some dealerships wont resurface'm because they dont have the means to properly resurface.
Others insist on a new flywheel, to eliminate any future problems an old flywheels could cause, and effect warrenty.

http://www.dxdracingclutches.com/inspectdmf.html</a

Yea I'm just going to go with a new one...
And I'll probably need it seeing how I drove on a slipping clutch for a few thousand miles. If I had been smart, I would have done the clutch job at the first sign of slippage and I probably could have saved $550 for not having to buy a new flywheel.
