blew one tonight on the way home. i think they are M version. Can I replace them as they go with the R version or do I need to replace all 4 now?

If you can determine which one blew, and change it, the remaining old ones often go shortly soon after...
They are fairly inexpensive, $30 each, so a new set of 4 is not too much ;O)

cheap insurance. keep the old coil packs for when the "R"'s die
in the trunk.
4 good in the car, 4 good in the trunk. no guessing games if you lose a coilpack
