Coincidence or not?

Last week, I decided to throw in a bottle of Chevron Techron before filling up. 70k on the clock and figured why not, wouldn't hurt to clean it. I put in bottle one, filled up. Drove around and everything felt pretty good, a little more peppy (not sure if its actual or just my head).
I did some searching and people suggested with that many miles and never been cleaned before, do one more bottle after the first. So I bought a second one and threw that in after the first tank was done.
Next morning after the second bottle was tossed in, the fuel pump made the horrible buzzing/vacuum noise (as I posted over the weekend). Coincidence that the fuel filter got clogged as a result of the techron? I replaced the fuel filter that afternoon as my plans for the day were scrapped. I didn't want to drive around with that horrible noise. Filter changed and noise gone, all is back to normal. The tank was still full with the techron inside. Filled up yesterday, no techron in the tank now.
Coincidence that the fuel filter was clogged or techron help accelerate that? Hmmmm...

The filter is there specifically to catch the fuel pump bits, as the fuel pump disintegrates, over time. You dont want the small parts making it to the injectors and clogging them.
By cutting open a clogged filter, you can identify exactly what clogged it, and help identify possible future problems. ;O)
