Contemplating short shifter (Question for those that have one installed already)
Here's the deal: I have no desire to track my car, I just want smoother shifting & somewhat shorter throw. For those of you who have an SS, do you think that it's worth the money based on the smoother shifting factor alone?
I am mainly looking at the JHM "Solid" SS, since it comes in a 5-speed version for the B6. After reviewing the videos on their site, I was impressed to consider this mod a little more seriously. I haven't found anyone else who sells the SS for the B6 5-speed, but admittedly haven't tried too hard, nor know who else to check out besides B&M. Please fire away w/ the good, bad, & ugly on this. I know there's a lot of bias on who's better, etc.

Technically, it's difficult to have the shorter throw and the smoother shift and this is why....
A short throw shifter increases the force needed to shift gears and it makes the process a bit notchier (only truly noticeable from 1st to 2nd) but, it's a perfect upgrade. I have an AMS SS and I love it, great mod, should have been like that from stock.
