My 1.8T has a light mocha coffee looking settlement in the coolant reservoir. I replaced the plastic reservoir and the coolant, but the substance showed up again. I'm assuming that oil is getting into the coolant some how, but is there a common problem for this issue? Do I need to replace the Head Gasket? Thank you all for your input in advance, any input is greatly appreciated...

There was evidence of sediment in my old reservoir as well, but I would describe it as being terra cotta in color.
But how Merkin alluded to, a picture is worth a thousand words.

If oil and coolant mixed to the point that it's in his reserviour then all that **** prolly ran into his block and head. Me personally.....I'd take the head off regardless to access potenial damage to the engine and replace the headgasket. Not the cost you want to pay somebody else to do though if it's not mandatory...
A4MZMRIZED, have you taken out the oil from the oil pan to see if the coolant and oil mix got down there already? I would be surprised if it didn't...
