Default Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement Question

I went through following the instructions in https://www.audiworld.com/tech/eng66.shtml to replace the coolant temperature sensor. Unfortunately I am having a problem getting past the first step.

The clip on mine seems rotated. If 12 o'clock is where is should be pointing (toward the firewall), mine is pointing at ~8 o'clock. I can't seem to get it to rotate and can't get to the clip to pull it out.

Any thoughts? Or has anyone had a similar problem?

Ian

Default you should still be able to pry it off with a screw driver

just have an extra on hand to replace it if it breaks

Default Re: you should still be able to pry it off with a screw driver

I spent a long time trying to get various sizes of screwdrivers into the area to pry it off. I have the new one, so I don't mind breaking the one on there now.

I'll give it another shot.
