What is correct tire pressure really? I'm running 235/4/17's. The pass. side recommendation sticker says 32 psi f/r. Is this good to go by or do others run different f/r pressures? I hate to over/under inflate new tires. When I got mine recently balanced and air pressure checked, 3 of the 4 had different pressure by +/- 4 lbs. I'm really confused. Please help. TIA

the pressure and treadwear each month.
If there is more wear in the center of the tread than the outer edges, you have too much pressure in the tire.
If there is more wear on the outer edges than the center of the tread, you need more air pressure.
The factory recommends certain pressures depending on how loaded the car is.
Each brand tire will be a little different and how you drive the car will affect tire wear too.
So the best thing is to keep monitoring it and adjust as needed.

Make sure you are on LEVEL ground whatever you do.
anyways the fronts wore the outside and i never bothered to rotate them. got about 2years out of them and some new 18's which run 39-40psi. I will rotate these every 5K miles

I don't understand how significantly higher cold pressure is preferable, it results in a much harsher/noisier ride, and will wear the tread unevenly.

when i was a toyota SA, all the camrys and corollas run 28-30 psi and the outer edges wear extremely fast.
something light like a celica or civic can run 32psi

and the recommended inflation pressure shown on the sticker gives the best compromise between comfort/noise and handling. Higher pressures than the recommended, will enhance handling at the expense of increased wear rate and increased harshness/noise levels.
