Default Corvette mileage/A4 mileage...How can this be?

Just saw a review of Anniversary Corvette Coup with 350HP V8 with a fuel economy rating of 19 mpg city/28 highway. That is the same rating as my Tip 170 HP/4 cylinder A4. How can this be?

Default Remember, Corvettes have the skipShift Technology.

Can't really remember how it works, but it's a huge gas saver.

And it won't be 28 if they let loose all 350 horsies.

Default under partial acceleration, it physically forces the shifter to skip gears

I think you are forced in to a 1-3 shift or a 2-5 shift, something like that.

Default I drove an old ZR1 several years ago....

If your RPM's went over 4000 in 1st gear, when shifting to 2nd, you were forced into 4th.

I actually thought it was very annoying.

Thats why you don't buy a corvette with an automatic tranny.

Yep it uses solenoids and little rams to force the shifts

Default That won't help on the highway, and 28mpg is pretty good for a 5.7L

They must have a really low overdrive gear or something.
