Default Could this be a sign of a coil pack problem?

It was raining and I arrived at the destination after 30min of city driving. I parked the car and turned off the engine and that was when I noticed the rain water over the center of the bonnet was being evaporated into steam. It wasn't a lot of steam but it was clearly visible. The outside temp was about 58F and I didn't think about it too much at the time.

There must be a lot of heat under the bonnet at the time. Where the steam appeared on the bonnet was right above the engine. Thinking about it now, I have never seen water being evaporated over the bonnet like this before on other cars.

I am not sure if the steam phenomenon is normal. Does coil pack overheat before it fails? What are the signs of failing coil pack (i.e. burning smell, melting plastic)?
