I've got two new problems... The previous owner must have been a dumb *** with this car...Just problem after problem.

First problem: I was feeling spirited and decided to go 100MPH down the highway. I guess the electronic "speed limiter" was activated at some point, as the engine light went on after I did this. The next morning the engine light is still on.... It drives fine and everything, but it still isn't turning off and it's starting to aggravate me.

Second: Occasionally when I start up the car and put it into (D), the background on all the drive gears go red, and i'm not able to change into Sport mode, or manual shift mode. The instruction literature says that means there is a transmission malfunction, but the thing is, it only does this sometimes -about 40% of the time.

The engine light is not from the speed limiter. The speed limiter is at 130mph (if you read the manual it tells you this), and the speed warnings are yellow at the top of the center display in the instrument cluster. Sounds more like you have a check engine light that came on when you were driving. I don't know much, but it could potentially be related to the transmission issue. Have you had anyone look at the car to see what may be wrong with it?
