So.....I have tried everything in the book to try to get my cruise control working. I have switched out the cruise control module, the multi-function switch, checked the vacuum pump, and clamped the hoses to see if there were any leaks in the lines. Nothing....The cruise control still doesn't work.

When I'm driving down the road and I set the cruise, I hear a clicking in the cruise control module, also when I push the brake, or put in the clutch I hear a click like it is disengaging. I drive from ohio to new york about 6-7 times a year and seems like I can't live without it. Is there anything that anyone knows that I haven't checked? thank you soo much for helping me.

Either the brake or the clutch will disengage it and it does not take much of a touch to do so either.

So what is the problem?

at least in my experience - in various cars.

If you can "resume" after then all is normal - if you have to re-set the speed that that doesn;t sound right.

I been using Cruise Control every day for the last 3 years that I had my A4... hitting the Clutch or Break is supposed to kick you out of cruise control mode.
