Default Is the CTS (non V) really as powerful as the matrix reloaded makes it seem?

In my 1.8T, I can't break the front wheels loose during full throttle acceleration, but in the matrix, they repeatedly spin the rear wheels by simply flooring it.

Is this doable or is it movie effects? Or did they use a CTS V?

They did not use a V. The base car had ~230bhp til this year, now it has 260bhp.

Default I'm sure hollywood effects has a lot to do with it, but you can break the rear tires loose when

flooring a base CTS. The High Feature V6 that Tsle talks about is really a great engine.

Default I can spin my front tires with ease, I can even chirp second gear. Both with ESP on...

but I'm a manual, you're a CVT. Have you tried turning ESP off? My last Audi was a Tiptronic (also FWD) and I was able to spin the wheels on that thing. One thing I'd do was hold the brake pedal down firmly while revving it to about 3K and let go of the brake right after. The front wheels went nuts! I didn't do it too often, because transmissions are nice to have when they work. I know it sounds ridiculous, but if you wanna spin them wheels those tactics may help.

Default Ah, yes, the brake-torquing trick!

See, I don't have a clutch like you (or at least a driver-controllable clutch), so I can't engage the drive wheels at 4000rpm.

ESP isn't the problem (the light doesn't flash, so it's not slowing me down). I haven't tried it in dry weather, but in the rain (w/my Contis), I was able to brake-torque to 3000 or so and with ESP off the front tires WOULD go nuts (NUTS...much more than on other cars--probably due to the sharp increase turbo-caused torque).
