Default Dammit, I have a coolant leak, dont have access to more coolant and now i have to get home

I've been filling my car up with coolant the last few weeks. But I just didnt have time to go to the dealership today to pickup another coolant jug. On my way into work a few minutes ago my temp gauge started to spike. Anyone know of any short term solutions? Will some regular water work for me tonight.

I've been mixing the g12 with water to an almost 50-50 mix. Temps here in NC aren't too cold, but im a bit worried about putting straight water in the reservoir. I guess tomorrow is going to be leave the car at the dealer day again.

Straight water is very bad. Distilled water ONLY.

Default I bought an extra hygrometer today for $1.You're probally ok down to -10f, easily. Add Dexcool...

It's the same damn thing as G-12. Hygrometer is a great tool, WalMart sells little ones for $1, you know....the floating ***** in the turkey baster. Yeah, add Dexcool compatible full strength in the same amount of water you add now or get a hygrometer!

http://www.motor.com/MAGAZINE/Articles/082004_04.html</a

I used to think so, but not so much now. My TEXACO Coolant calls for "tap water" on the jug.

I know, that's why I got it! I was told the G-11/12 they send to US is adjusted for our hard water.
