I searched the topic and cam up with a good write up and video but was wandering if anyone actually does it. From what I have read it is not necessary but I know the importance of revmatching. Do you just revmatch and go or do you double clutch then revmatch.

The idea is to match tranny input shaft rpm to the next gear's speed as an aid to smooth gear engagement. I don't know how one would match these rpms without double clutching. Although the synchros should take care of gear alignment during a gear change, double clutching takes a load off of synchros if it is done well. As far as actually matching the revs, I don't know how close I get. I just blip the throttle to where the engine rpms sound like what I will expect when the lower gear is engaged.

I know it is not nessessary on a modern car I just wandered if any of you do it. I have been practicing revmatching (in my Jeep LOL) and am getting better but it still is not perfect.
<granny shifting not double clutching like you should of>
That was a great line from the Fast and the Furious. Why would you double clutch drag racing from a start? LOL It seems to me that if you have to downshift you did something wrong.
