Do any of you sense resentment from people around you for owning an Audi?

Funny you say that............
about the Yukon. My younger brother has a $32,000 Nissan Pathfinder and his friends always say how come your brothers have nice Audi's and you drive this. My older bro has a 3.0 A4. Are cars aren't really that expensive compared to a lot of the SUV's out there!

I'm older so maybe people figure I've earned it. You're under 25? That's when...
...people think your parents gave it to you. Or your job doesn't "fit" people's preconceptions or prejudices as to the car you "should" drive.
Enjoy the car; forget the others. Just don't park close to them.

If you think you've got it bad...
...just think of how rough I've got it. When I had my old 328is (before the A4), quite a few total strangers automatically assumed that I was an arrogant ***** before I even opened up my mouth.
When I ditched the bimmer and got my 2000 A4, I didn't sense it nearly as much. People would come up to me and ask what kind of car it was (debadged). One girl I dated for awhile jokingly called it a "family car".
Now that I've sold the A4 and picked up a new 3 series coupe, I'm the ***** again.....like magic. The difference is that I'm older now and don't give a rat's *** what strangers think. Those that know me know that I'm really only 75% the ***** that they thought I'd be when they first met me.
I guess what I'm trying to say, Joe, is that you shouldn't let it get to you. Lots of people resent others who have it better off than they do. Audi is a fine German car. Now that Audi is becoming more recognized as such, you're bound to get a few jealous types who will resent you a bit for having a nice car. Don't sweat it. Just enjoy the car; you've worked hard for it. If some people don't GET that, **** 'em.
