Default Do you believe the engine on a CVT car will last longer?

I mean, I have a CVT 3.0, and for the best of me, I can never get the RPM's beyond 4,000 rpm. Redline is at 6,500 rpm.

Not that I'm complaining. The car actually pulls quite nicely when I thrash the peddal to the floor.

I'm just thinking that my engine never sees a lot of stress and never breaks a sweat (due to the CVT). So I'm guessing maybe it will last a little longer than the regular car engine. Any truth to this?

how you've been taking care of your engine is also a factor

But that's a given for any engine.

Default I'm comparing an engine that drives a CVT verses an engine that drives a reg tip auto transmission.

My engine (that drives my CVT) does not experience the same high rpms that an engine which drives a tiptronic automatic transmission experiences.

Default baed on your description, it's possible, but I've not seen any industry data to

support your question (or refute it).

All things being equal, maybe, but in real life there are too many more important variables.

i would worry about the transmission rather than the engine. the 3.0 is solidly built
