My dealer's service dept. quoted me $595 w/o headlight kit and $659 w/headlight kit. Is it worth it? Does anyone have one? Driven 3k so far and have few minor chips and front is pia to clean. thx

Autobahnd web site

Default TOO MUCH Re: Do you guys recommend "Autobahnd" paint protection system?

The dealer is trying to rip you off. Its another cool name for what most ppl call ClearBra. Please visit xpel.com and you will know. You can check for a local installer there or visit any good tint shop. You can do it yourself too but its a PIA and requires a lot of time and patience.

Default I have the Autobahnd installed from the dealer.. more

It does cost more but the coverage is greater than Clear Bra. It look like Clear Bra doesn't covers the front fenders like Autobahnd does. I'm comparing this to what I have and what the Clear Bra template on their website. If you find a local installer, they may be able to custom the fenders for you to give you better coverage, but then I'm sure it'll cost more.

Default That price isn't too insane if it includes both the product AND installation. (more)

You can check www.xpel.com for the kit price, like DesiA4 said, but add about $220 to that for installation of the hood/mirrors/fender/bumper/headlights/foglights (or call around to the shops listed on xpel.com in your area for quotes).

Default The front tip of the fender going about 3 inches back is protected with the Xpel kit. Is yours (m)

farther back than that? It continues the line from the piece on the hood so it doesn't look obvious.

Default I paid $350 for product plus installation, including light protection.

The price you're being quoted is insane.

Also, note that they all use EXACTLY THE SAME MATERIALS. It is a urethane developed by 3M. AFAIK, they have a patent on it, so I don't see how any other company could provide the material.

Default Local Xpel dealers want $500+ installed, too much for me

I'd rather spend it on mods, like audio and spoiler.

Default It is completely up to the installer to decide what to cover.

Clear Bra is just a brand name for an installer. Depending on what you pay, they cover more or less areas of the car.

For example, I asked them to add a long piece along the bottom of both front doors to protect the area where the wheels normally throw rocks up. They added this for no extra charge.

The product is the same, but coverage maybe isn't.

I read up on a lot of different brands of protectant, they all were 3M based, but some had better coverage than others.

I had the dealer put it on my car because I liked the coverage area of the brand they used, I liked that I didn't have to find a reputable place to have it put on and risk chips prior to finding this place, and that I could add the 600 bucks to my financing.

Default I guess you didn't read my reply...

This is the template Clear Bra has on their website, if you order it online and DIY install this is what you'll get.
