Do you need to reset codes after changing coilpacks?
Had my first CP failure last night. Had a spare in the trunk but it turned out I had misfires at # 2 and 3. I was able to limp a few miles home and the few miles to the dealer and had the dealer handle under aftermarket warranty. I was going to buy a couple spares but the service guy told me that if you don't reset the codes after changing out the CPs, the same problem will just happen again. Is this true? I don't have a vag-com yet? Thanks...

will they cause another problem? no, but they will hinder the diagnosis of future ones
since you may not be able to tell what codes are old / CP-related and what ones are related to the "new" issue
