Do you think painting the lowers makes the car look fatter. I think it looks better.

Kinda makes it look a little more like an A6

...the lower panel line breaks up the tall vertical profile of the car and is shaped so it counters the curves in the trunk, roof, hood line in a manner that complements the form of the A4. The black.. any color you want as long as it's black.. saves a few bucks and has a purposeful, rugged look which I like. Naturally this is not so obvious with dark A4's. I would seem to be a minority in this outlook but nothing new for me!

Light colors yes (silver, white), Dark not really (black, dolphin), I think painted looks more $$$

Bright days it might look a little larger, but denim at dawn/dusk looks deep. See APR's car.
