Im a newbie, and i have recently purchased a 2000 1.8T A4, and i've been reading some forums and it states that the turbo can die around 70k, what exactly happens, should i sell the A4, cause i dont' want to deal with big money problems. I love this car, but im worried about the turbo.

Even though alot of people here are on their 2nd or more audi, the previous generation forum can prolly give you the most info on this subject.

No, they don't statistically have any more problems than a non-turbo engine. However lots of guys, modify their cars and race them or just drive extremely hard,,,,and end up with problems,,,,that probably would be present even if there wasn't a turbo
