I don't drive my A4 everyday, but everytime I turn on the A/C, I get this awful smell coming out from the vent. I read some suggestions on how to remove the fungi in the system but the problem is that Hong Kong is a hot and humid place, plus the pollution, you have to always have the recirrculate on and turning up the heat is total out of the question. Does anyone have any other suggestions ? I am thinking of getiing one of these sprays which is suppose to kill the fungi in the system but I can't find the ventilation intake, inside(for recirrculate) and outside (for fresh air setting) to spray these things in. Can anhbody help ?

with A/C running full blast to recirculate the mist. You can also pull out the air filter and spray lysol on it directly. Use common sense if it actually needs to be replaced. S.E. Asia is predominantly hot and humid; perfect conditions for growth of odor-causing bacteria. ;-)

You can probably find them in an automotive store. They spray directly into the A/C vents.
As a preventative measure, I turn off the A/C compressor (ECON mode) about 10 minutes before I arrive at my destination. This leaves the fan running to dry out the system before you park the car. I used to have the A/C smell problem, but ever since I started doing this, I haven't had it happen.

I tried the sprays. didn't work too well. It worked for first two days but the smell came back. I was out of town in the past several days and only to find the smell even worst after leaving the car there for a week. I have to be in Singapore next week, I guess the car will smell like **** after I come back.
