Default Yep, it's the four German motor companies that joined to form Audi.
They were Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer. Now it is known as Audi AG.

Default some lil sh*t lied to me.. they said it its cuz Audi was the first for 4 wheel drive...
what a bunch of lying @ss sh*ts. Thanks for the links. you know.. 4 rings represents 4 wheels...

Default no logic behind that as quattro evolved around 1980
and the four rings symbol pre dates that by numerous deccades.
