Default Does anyone notice the stupid licence plate bracket on the Volvo S40?

<center><img src="http://www.virtualroadtest.com/VolvoS40/S407.jpg"></center><p>It hangs down like some idiot designed it. Why not move it up an inch so it does not look so stupid?

Default Designed for European plate size....

Same as the A4 was in 1996 to 1997 I think. I guess it's too expensive for them to create two trunk styles early in the model year.

It looks like it has room to work with the US plate. In person it looks worse.

Default Not really, I owned a 2000 S40 before my 03 A4 1.8T

You'd have to either drill the plate differently or come up with a totally different mounting method.

I was thinking Option #2. I was thinking a new bracket/method.

If memory serves me...I think a US plate would still hang over the bottom a bit.

Default Weird, but this reminds me of the situation with another Ford family vehicle
