Default I have in the past, I just took a big sheet and covered the entire back seat including the floor,

back of the front seats, everything. As soon as your done, just pull out the sheet and your interior is still perfect.

Default an old fitted sheet...

at least queen fitted over the back seat, tuck under headrests and in "crotch" by seatbelt receptacles. Am assuming your dog is sizeable. Not to spark a battle here but IMHO its not a "dog" unless over 60lbs. I have a 115# Bernese MTN dog

Only 85lbs, but bred to hunt lions, so pretty tough.

Default See, for the 745i, BMW makes this great seat cover/dog hammock that hangs from the 2 rear and...

2 front head rests, sort of like a big velour dog taco shell....yumm...dog tacos, getting hungry just thinking of it.

Default cool dogs, those ridgebacks...

My Aunt and Uncle breed them in New Hampshire.

Default Try an online pet store...

They make covers for the back seat that work quite well. The whole bedsheet thing is a BAD idea. Not only will it not protect the seat from your dogs nails, but it also leaves the footwells open...a dangerous proposition for your pooch if you ever slam on the brakes. The back seat covers I have seen attach to the back of the front seats, and completely cover the footwell area, so your dog can't fall in. They are usually well padded as well.

Somebody asked a similar question on the S4 forum about a month back and got some very good responses. See if you can search to dig up the thread.
