Does chipping your engine void the factory warranty???

Get a direct port chip...still...if you can't afford to fix, don't chip...
...as has been said THOUSANDS of time on this forum, if the dealer wants to find a chip, they will...then it's like russian roulette if they void your warranty. Technically THEY have the burden of proof to proove that the chip caused the problem, but are you REALLY going to take them to court if they do say they won't cover something?

There are laws that allow aftermarket manufactures to produce products that don't
void a warrenty. Thus, the dealer must prove the part you installed damaged the thing that broke. Difficult to do but it could still take litigation and alot of time and expense. So the answeer is No but good luck. Your guilty until you can prove it.

If you are concerned ask the dealer some are acceptable to certain mods and may help but
if not you have just opened up a bag of bees and you are under the microscope, It's up to you.

Teh direct answer is yes. However, it does not void all other parts...
only parts related to the chip itself. Thus, if the turbo fails, expect to pay that. If the winshield doesn't roll down, its not due to teh chip.
Just be aware that in the aftermarket game, you pay to play...

the dealer doesn't have to prove anything... the burden is on you to prove that it didn't
or hire a lawyer, which may be costlier than the repair itself. So, in my opinion, any non-audi santioned part voids the warranty on any related component of the car. So, if you chip, kiss your drivetrain warranty goodbye.

Here is the law.
The Law
Federal law sets forth requirements for warranties and contains a number of provisions to prevent vehicle manufacturers, dealers and others from unjustly denying warranty coverage. With regard to aftermarket parts, the gist of the law is that warranty coverage cannot be denied simply because such parts are present on the vehicle, or have been used. ).The warranty coverage can be denied only if the aftermarket part caused the malfunction or damage for which warranty coverage is sought. Disputes in this area usually boil down to arguments over facts and technical opinions, rather than arguments over interpretations of the law.
